Landlord Compliance Requirements
Under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations, landlords must ensure electrical installations are inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every 5 years. A copy of the report must be supplied to existing tenants within 28 days, and to new tenants before occupation.
If the report shows an unsatisfactory outcome (C1, C2, or FI codes), you must undertake remedial works within 28 days, or sooner if specified.
